Ali Ashraf, MDFellowship Trained Orthopaedic Surgeon Sports Medicine Specialist

Dr. Ali Ashraf is a fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, shoulder arthroplasty, and treatment of general orthopaedic injuries. He was raised in Garland, Texas and attended North Garland High School. After graduation, he attended the University of Texas in Austin where he graduated with a B.S in Biology. Dr. Ashraf attended medical school at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock. After medical school, he spent a year at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota doing research in orthopaedic surgery.

Shoulder replacement surgery is mostly performed to relieve symptoms of severe shoulder pain and disability due to arthritis. In this procedure, the damaged articulating parts of the shoulder joint are removed and replaced with artificial prostheses.
